My Grandmother died today, she was 82 and a month away from her 83rd birthday. I have no grandparents anymore, one generation completely gone from my family. This is a picture of her when she was 19 I believe, though I never knew her then I’m sure this is how she would want to be remembered.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints in snow,
I am the sunlight and ripened grain.
I am the gentle Autumn rain.
When you awake in the morning hush,
I am the swift upflinging rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.
